The Cafe de Paris line-up was the best ever this year. Talco, Barbarella’s Bang Bang, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Mate Power… and more. It stole the Crystal Palace’s crown as the best place to find a big band in a small setting. And this moustachioed compere did a grand job between the sets.

If he looks familiar, you might have been drinking at his usual home, the Absinthe-crazy, ever-so-cool Bar Trench in Tokyo’s Ebisu district.
