A Little R&R at Pyramid Garden
Getting to Pyramid Garden is a bit of a hike. From the central part of Fuji Rock, which is condensed around the Green Stage and the Oasis food court, the trek takes a solid 25 minutes. Perhaps it’s because of my small steps or slow pace, but any faster than that and all you could do once you get to Pyramid Garden would be to sprawl out on the grass.
The secluded haven is a unique place filled with goodies to consume and a laid-back atmosphere. It’s also popular with kids, as there are wooden play structures to play on. There are also hammocks to lay out in, and the most comfortable outdoor chairs waiting for anyone to use. Get this: they recline all the way! Perfect for a daytime or evening nap.
Speaking of naps, Tokyo’s well-known roaster, Little Nap Coffee Stand has their own setup at Pyramid Garden. Stocked with treats like muffins, cookies, and brownies, their coffee and sweets are good enough incentive to make the trek.
For something more savory, stop by Pyramis Café for curries and other hearty meals. They also serve homemade vinegar drinks, such as Earl Grey Orange and Ume (plum) vinegar sodas.
Come evening time, the center of the grounds heat up with a camp fire and candles lit all around the stage. Come listen to the music. Come to relax. Come as you are. It’s a special place that’s worth spending some time at during Fuji Rock.
