Impromptu Water Show

In order to keep cool, lots of folks at Fuji Rock dip their feet in the stream that’s right before White Stage. This afternoon, two overzealous fest-goers decided to take things a bit further. One did a cannonball into the stream and the other did a shallow dive. Seeing as how the stream is not very deep, it should come as little surprise that both men jumped up and shouted “Itai!” (“Ouch!”) after taking their plunges. With a lot of people now watching them after their yelps, the two tried to save a bit of face by putting on a short synchronized swimming show that actually turned out to be pretty funny!

This might be a weird way to preface a recommendation for food, but I’m generally not a fan of burgers. They’re typically greasy, fatty, stale, clunky and taste like half-baked concrete. That said, you’d be almost mad to pass up an opportunity to grab a burger from Tengoku, which — as the name might suggest — is located in Tokoro Tengoku near the river by the bridge near the entrance to the White Stage. And they’re pretty reasonably priced too: ¥600 for a standard burger and a paltry ¥100 extra from a slice of cheese. Pictured here are Naofumi, 39, and Ayumi, 40, who have come to Fuji Rock eight and ten times respectively. Props!
