Do you want to hear a secret?

The Daydreaming stage is very atmospheric, especially in the morning. It is much cooler, much more peaceful and much quieter than the rest of the festival. Who better to add a little soundtrack to the quiet than Tokyo DJ Shhhhh.

He collaborates with artists from all over the world, even now working as the resident DJ at Ho Chi Minh City’s club The Observatory. This pedigree is apparent in his music. The beginning of his set was a steady wash of ambient noise with waves of different styles of percussion ebbing and flowing. This grew into a laid back, multilayered groove pulsing like a tide. His music managed to feel at once very digital but also very natural without the effect seeming jarring. You can tell the man is at home in a place like Daydreaming.

It may have been too early to expect people to be up and dancing, but Shhhhh was able to keep toes a-tapping as everyone acclimatized to a new day at Fuji Rock. Not even the boots of the camp chair snoozers were able to stay still.
