Catching a crowd’s attention is hard. Keeping a crowd’s attention is harder. Getting them to hand over cold, hard cash at the end is truly an art. There is a name for this art… it is busking. And Geinin Makoto is the king.

Fire juggling, card magic (suits and values emerging from burning newspaper!), truly amazing Rubix Cube skills and fantastically corny banter flow from the man like it was something he could do in his sleep. This makes sense, considering this is his 20th time performing at Fuji Rock, and that busking is the craft which earns him his daily bread.

He has brought a grand total of 11 acts to this year’s festival, ranging from magicians and one-man-bands to mimes and acrobats. He and they will be popping up all over throughout the weekend, don’t forget to give them a little bit of your precious time. And your precious pocket change.
