Please look after the locals

A few years ago I was chatting to the staff in my accommodation about what happens the rest of the year without ski season and Fuji Rock.

“Not alot,” they replied. “It’s just us and the bears.”

Now, rest assured the local charismatic mega-fauna are very savvy and have likely headed for the hills as the festival preparations began, but the insect population has not. On your travels about the festival site you will encounter many little characters including damselflies and dragonflies, crickets, grasshoppers and a multitude of small flies and beetles.

None of these little critters are dangerous so please do not smoosh them: this is their home.

Should you find yourself joined by a stag beetle or a large cricket, carefully remove them from your person and find a safe place out of the way of foot traffic to put them down.
