He has introduced many domestic and foreign artists through various events, etc.

Experienced performer at Fuji Rock, Bryan played this year at Day Dreaming stage. His selection mixes together electronic, techno and house.

TV and radio personality by day, member of punk band “SAFARI” and DJ by night, Bryan wears many different hats. He is actually one of the producers of Fuji Rock’s “All Night Fuji” and “Day Dreaming”.

Byran participates in Fuji Rock every single year. In fact, he actually attended the first-ever Fuji Rock, and recalls that at the time there were only about eight people operating in the staff department. Now it takes a village, probably hundreds of people behind the scenes to make Fuji Rock happen.

It was pretty cool to see Bryan perform, as someone who not only has performed at Fuji Rock multiple times, but has such a strong connection to the overall festival and its roots.

AMG SAIMURA http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/p_1256 Sun, 31 Jul 2022 13:41:03 +0000 http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/?p=1256 ASOUND http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/p_1181 Sun, 31 Jul 2022 13:39:27 +0000 http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/?p=1181 If bassist Soma’s dreadlock hairstyle and lead vocalist Ariwa’s red green and yellow getup didn’t make it clear where ASOUND’s musical influences come from, it became evident the moment that smooth R&B infused reggae rhythms began to flow forth from the Gypsy Avalon on Friday.

The young band, formed only two years prior, channels laid-back Jamaican jams which burn long and slow. The pace never exceeded a crawl and the youthful band showed surprisingly good chemistry considering their short time as a unit.

Rounding out the group were drummer Manaw and keyboardist Couta. The band is active in the Kanto area, performing many shows in and around Tokyo. It will no doubt be interesting to see what kind of waves this talented but young band make in the future.

Glimpse Group http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/p_1243 Sun, 31 Jul 2022 05:56:12 +0000 http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/?p=1243 Formed in the year 2018, Glimpse Group is a Shonan based Japanese rock group attracting the likes of many across the Japanese music scene, particularly live houses. The Rookie A Go-Go stage is a stage located in between the Red Marquee and the Green Stage, making it the perfect place to catch the attention of concert goers getting from place to place. Glimpse Group managed to draw in a crowd only a couple of songs into their afternoon set.

Since their formation, they have released two singles entitled: See What’s Out There (2020) and FAMILIAR (2021). They opened their 30 minute set with their song MY GIRL and finished strong with Make Me Lion.

Their youthfulness and obvious camaraderie are their strengths, and what sets them apart may be their ability to keep a consistently high energy throughout the entirety of a set. The songs performed showcased the singer’s impressively large vocal range, and while the audience only had a mere 30 minutes to get to know this up and coming band, they sure made the best of the time they were given.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them perform on bigger stages at Fuji Rock a few years down the line.

THE FACTORS http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/p_1255 Sun, 31 Jul 2022 05:14:50 +0000 http://fujirockexpress.net/22e/?p=1255 The duo known as THE FACTORS played music to heal the soul at the Daydreaming stage this morning at Fuji Rock. Singer songwriter SAKi led us in with some deep breaths into the mic while guitarist and composer Jody Tengu led us in with a sultry melody.

Their music is a mix of a Parisian coffee shop and a meditation session in the woods. SAKi sang with a genuine smile on her face the whole time while Tengu grooved to the electric guitar. Together they create a beautifully airy sound that leaves you feeling so relaxed.

Some of their songs have more momentum where the duo show off their skills. Tengu slowly built upon the song by looping the guitar melody and continually added new layers. SAKi multi-tasked singing and playing the maracas building the song in a crescendo. Others songs included satisfying musical effects like a stuttering setting to SAKi’s mic and a synth distortion to Tengu’s guitar.

The vocalization of SAKi is particularly interesting because of the intentional breathiness she has when she sings. It pairs very well with the humming that they usually begin their songs with. Whether planned or not- the Restaurant Alm bell rang several times in between their songs and SAKi hummed along on the same pitch. It was a happy coincidence that made for a very fluid transition into their next song.
