Mr. Bun Bun is a man of many faces. He could be a henshin-style superhero one moment, a traditional Japanese calligraphy artist the next, perhaps even occasionally an indicator waving roadside construction mannequin at times. But whatever form he takes, his performances will always be absurd, over-the-top and ridiculously engaging to kids from one to ninety-two.

He is a veteran daidogei street performer coming to us all the way from Kyushu, and this isn’t Mr. Bun Bun’s first Fuji Rock rodeo. Even before the festival formally started on Thursday he was already started juggling on a tightrope, literally devouring apples while juggling them, and even climbing into a giant pink balloon in order to battle off demons and his own evil twin (don’t ask). If you get the chance to see him perform this weekend don’t miss it.

And, of course, don’t forget to tip your buskers.
