Always fantastic to see people playing dance music with real instruments and this groovy trio was on the Field of Heaved stage today to show that anything a DJ could do with club music could be done better and in a much more satisfying way for the audience if the music was produced by real instruments. All they are Japanese, cro-magnon formed in Boston back in 1996 and have released over 10 disks since then, all of which have been on the fantastic Japanese club music / hip hop label Jazzy Sport. Yet again for me, the highlight of their set was their closing song which really saw them up the level of funk and get good vibes in the Field of Heaven flowing hard. These guys play regularly at festivals and live venues all over Japan There is a great music video to give you an idea of how stylish their party music is, and at the centre of the video is the high tech design of the newly opened Hikarie building in Shibuya, seen at different stages of the day and night.
