Making her Fuji Rock debut back in 2010 at Gypsy Avalon, for her sophomore appearance Arisa Safu was slotted at Mokudo Tei. One of the fest’s more intimate settings, the very cool performance space is located in the middle of the woods along the boardwalk that runs between White Stage and Field of Heaven.
A few hundred people hung out amongst the trees to watch Safu’s Sunday afternoon set. Possessing a deep and soulful voice, her vocals fit really well with the bluesy music she turned out. Backed by a drummer and a harmonica player, her 40-minute set was solid and included covers of “Come Together” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” mixed in amongst her originals.
