Bacel Vajohn
With the skies briefly clearing up, Japanese four-piece band Bacel Vajohn took to the stage at Gypsy Avalon. Comprised of two acoustic guitarists, a cajon player, and an Indian tabla player, the act showcased instrumental folk rock cuts from their debut full-length album, “Hanashigai No Inu,” which came out this past March.
The cajon player’s face was beaming throughout the set as he played his box drum with one hand and tapped on cymbals with the other. Situated in the center of the stage, Sota Sato wore a more serious expression, but his tabla playing added some very interesting twists to the band’s acoustic rhythms.
