THE ROOSTERS
After breaking up in 2004, the Roosters were destined for a reunion show at Fuji Rock. Many were eagerly awaiting the return to the stage of band leader and guitarist, Shinya Ohe.
And, the first track of the Roosters return to Naeba after a 10 year absence was a Japanese rendition of “Tequila”. Ohe cut quite a dashing figure on stage in cuff-links, and expensive suit and a silk scarf.
Setting off the band was a backdrop featuring work by Japanese illustrator, Nara Yoshitomo. The band kicked out all the 50′s inspired boogie music and their best Rolling Stones send-up. It was pure rock ‘n’ roll unmixed.
