Foodie Rock Festival 2015: Pizzeria La Locanda Del Pittore
Allow me a moment to make a gross blanket statement — I don’t know anyone who dislikes pizza, and I really fail to comprehend how anyone in the world could avoid it. All situations, I dare say, can be enhanced by pizza. That certainly holds true for Fuji Rock, which boasts a handful of stalls serving up the foodstuff. One of those is Pizzeria La Locanda Del Pittore, located on the north end of the main food court near the Red Marquee. Originally from the Iwappara region, this booth offers pasta, drinks and a variety of substantially sized pizzas optimal for two people.
The varieties on hand range from the ol’ favorites such as margherita to the “Fuji Rock Special,” featuring half margherita and half sausage. On Thursday, I opted for the salami pie, initially under the (wrong as heck) presumption it would just be an American-style pepperoni pizza. Nope, this came topped with delicate salami, which added a very nice salty bite to each slice. Prices are a bit high — about 1680 yen — though the food itself ends up being cooked in about five minutes. Pizza tends to make everything better, and here’s a good go-to at Fuji Rock.
