Young singer/songwriter shines in the forest
At seventeen years old, Ayane Yamazaki is one of the youngest artists playing Fuji Rock this year. Her early afternoon set at the Mokudo Tei was a lovely, bare-bones performance, featuring just her voice and some strums of an acoustic guitar. These were introspective numbers, soft enough to doze off to but concealing more emotional layers if you zeroed in on the words. It was ideal for the stage, her songs matching well with a serene spot surrounded by trees.
