One of the most unique and exhilarating experiences at Fuji Rock is taking a ride on the Dragondola – the 5.5 km (3.4 mi) gondola ride which takes you to the top of a mountain where the Day Dreaming stage is. This gondola is the longest gondola in Japan, and it takes a whopping 25 minutes each way.

The ride takes you over rivers and multiple mountains; just when you think you’re about to reach the top, the gondola dips into another valley. In addition to the beautiful surrounding nature and a turquoise water reservoir, there is one other very unique feature about riding this specifically during Fuji Rock.

From 426m (approximately 1,400 ft) high in the gondola, you can see down into the festival to see various stages and walkways, such as the Green Stage and White Stage and the forest crevasses of Fuji Rock. Not only can you see them, but you can hear any lives that are happening loud and clear. It’s as if you’re looking down from the skies.

At the end of the ride, another treat awaits – the Day Dreaming stage. This is one of the two very secluded and rather quaint stages at the festival. Day Dreaming often features smaller DJ acts and hip-hop artists. There is also a restaurant where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the view and music.
