Living on a Prayer?
A quick update on vegetarian food available at this year’s festival – no, that avocado burger is not vegetarian.
We’ve been scouting around the last few days and here’s what we’ve found so far.
In the Oasis area, Mumbai sells vegetarian curry. There are two types: mushroom and spinach or vegetable and bean. Both are available as part of a set with a samosa, naan bread and yellow rice for ¥1000. Pretty hearty fare and good for a cold rainy day.
Next door to Mumbai, the donburi concession has 6 items on the menu which are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, including matsutake mushroom tempura rice bowls, other veggie bowls and even a pizza. We’ll be checking those out tomorrow when we’re not fed up with rice.
In the Blue Galaxy area near Jim’s Vinyl-Nasium, you’ll spy the little coffee and booze bar – yesterday we spotted a vegetarian curry available.
Up at Field of Heaven, the fried tofu, avocado and cheese dish is a popular choice, if a little underwhelming. Perhaps we should have gone for the pumpkin and chickpea green curry which smelled pretty good.
