LIVE REPORT FIELD OF HEAVEN 7/28 FRI

OGRE YOU ASSHOLE

Easy-going rockers brave the rain

Just as mellow rockers Ogre You Asshole took the Field of Heaven stage on Friday afternoon, a light drizzle turned into a steady downpour, and their first song’s opening notes soundtracked a dry crowd’s transformation into a rainbow sea of wet ponchos. The band which originated in neighboring Nagano prefecture didn’t let the rain stop them from launching into a string of extended-play psychedelic jams, contrasting a bit from their previously released material.

Even deeper cuts from their back catalog got the extended treatment, and the mood was decidedly more bluesy and free flowing than previous live appearances. Though the rain never let up throughout the entire set, Ogre You Asshole urged fans to tough it out and enjoy themselves. Feet stomping and splashing in puddles kept time to the groups laid back jams and fans seemed pleased to stick around, their ponchos keeping them (mostly) dry.
