If it were left up to me which rookie band gets to be crowned this year’s winner, I’m going with hobnob. The mysterious three piece consists of a (insanely talented) drummer, synth player, and VJ artist who creates accompanying visuals on the fly while projecting them onto the band themselves.

They kept banter to a minimum and thundered through impressively technical drum-centric tracks accented by deep booming synths and sampled vocal loops. Dressed all in white, the visuals projected onto the band gave them a trippy 3D quality that matched the depth of their music.

I could definitely see their energy transition well to a larger stage if picked as the winner from this year’s crowd.
