Rain Rain, Stay Far Away
Trying to keep Naeba dry via colorful dolls
So far, the weather at Fuji Rock 2017 has been pretty agreeable. Despite ever-present clouds and a light misting Thursday night, everything has felt pretty good so far (dare I say…optimal? Not too hot, not too cold, barely wet?). Still, you can’t mess around with the threat of a storm in Naeba, so punters based at the camp site put up some teru teru bozu dolls on a nearby fence. They are a traditional Japanese way of warding off bad weather, especially rain. Usually, they are just white, but this is Fuji Rock, so naturally they got a colorful upgrade, running from cute to vaguely psychedelic. Here’s hoping they work.
