Fuji Rock veterans bring Tibetan music to the people

Returning to Fuji Rock Festival year after year, Upendra and Friends should get the award for ‘Busiest Chilled Out Band’ every time.

They always play multiple shows (though perhaps this year a bit fewer than usual) and every time they consistently bring fans some of the most laid-back relaxing music of the festival.

Rather than crowd the stage, Upendra and Friends invite listeners to kick back, find a seat of the forest floor and just enjoy the churning rhythms.

Bringing traditional Nepalese music to Japan for years, Upendra and Friends are a Fuji Rock mainstay that many look forward to hearing each and every time.

Though they are mainly known to play Gypsy Avalon, I think the forest setting of Mokudotei definitely suits their vibe the best.

If you missed the chance to catch them this year, make note to see their relaxing set next time around.
