We close when you get up!

Fuji Rock’s most happening after party was in full swing last night with celebs and festival regulars cheek to elbow in the smallish space. Few noticed that Crystal Palace performer Nathaniel Rateliff stumbled up into the tree fort cum sake bar which comprises the majority of the space. Soon enough, he was lifting a paper cup of sake to soothe his throat.

Major changes this year included a black tarp high in the overhead canopy in case of typhoon and cosmetic changes to make the area feel fresher and comfortable. The snowboards which originally served a seating and signage are still there, but a few more boards and benches have been added, not to mention an entrance arch which at times is an open invitation to the rank and file festival goer to march through the space.

Larry, one of the minders of the space says the inspiration was simply to make an intimate area set off from the Palace of Wonder. He was careful not to make it too comfortable let he not be able to step foot into his own space.

Adam, the carpenter who did much of the obtuse word work was thinking of adding a trellis for hydrangeas – blue flowers – though this might take more attending to rather than the once a year set up for the club.

Bartender, The Hun, was also eager to introduce a new sunrise drink — bloody mary. It’s spicy tomato juice with sake and a celery stalk. Quantities are limited, and so is the serving time. And as always, we remind you it is for a good cause, Nepal earthquake relief. Pictures of the charitable work raised by Posh Tomato are proudly pasted on the bar refrigerator. So, cheers!
