We will be back!

We caught up with a trio of girls who won their ticket to this year’s festival while attending Fujirockers Bar in Taipei. Thanks to the generosity of Smash, these lucky young ladies were encouraged to undertake the trip abroad to become part of Asia’s best known rock festival.

Despite a rough night of camping, ticket winner Vickie Ku vows to be back next year. She says her tent mates, Hua Bai-ai and Chen, Yu-fan vow to be back. Ku says the best thing about the festival is the music, and coming back this time helped her overcome a wet experience first had in 2004 where mud had prevented her from checking out many of the musical stages.

While weekend weather was anything but dry, it still provided to be suitable for visiting multiple stages and venues. Ku said she had yet to be at Cafe de Paris though she’s eager to dance to house and techno music which is available at nearby Unfair Ground which she has yet to visit as well.

When we caught up with them, the trio were grooving to a DJ set at Blue Galaxy by Fujirocker honcho, Koichi Hanufsa who became acquainted with the group when he attended the event in Taipei. A free ticket and camping pass as well as some friends at the festival encouraged this group to come and have the experience of a lifetime. They are definitely sharing this experience with their friends, and expect many more Taiwanese visitors in the next few years.
