Young DJ lights up the Red Marquee

Peggy Gou might be the most famous DJ you’ve never heard of. The South Korean-born artist released an acclaimed album earlier this year, appeared on London’s Boiler Room and at Coachella, and has received a lot of recent notoriety from critics and fans alike in her up-and-coming career.

Picking up where fellow Planet Groove artist Jon Hopkins left off, she slid in behind the turntables and blasted tunes which veered back and forth between ethereal and ominous. Working a Red Marquee crowd that may have been as large as I’ve ever seen at 2:15am on a Friday, Peggy continues to blaze trails for Korean electronic music and gain a following worldwide.

Keeping the party rolling on into late-night Planet Groove, Peggy Gou is a name you’ll likely start hearing if you have your ears trained to pick up the latest and greatest in the electronic music scene.
