Hifana were the kind of act who were made for the new addition of the “Unfairground” area. Incorporating funky spaced out rhythms that suddenly gave way to tribal jungle bounces, all while accompanied by a number of sideshow performers from the Pyratrix Circus, this electonic duo gave the small crowd a lot to take in, cramming all kinds of genres into one set.

The duo hails from Kichijoji in Tokyo, where they formed in 1998. Members Fukuda and Miyata have been breakbeat specialists appearing all throughout Japan and around the world.

While they haven’t had many releases of recent (their last major one was 24H in 2010), they definitely felt very relevant and on top of their game, with crowds consistently looking forward to what kind of tempo or style change they would throw in next.
