Rookie a Go-Go is supposed to be a stage where young up and coming talent can get a chance to perform at Fuji Rock. And considering the long list of Rookie alumni who have ‘made it big’, this little stage has a bit of a big reputation.

The question then is, what do we look for in a Rookie. If you are leaning towards answers like ‘boundless energy’, ‘untarnished positivity’, or ‘youthful exuberance’ then Hashirikomiz might be the band for you!

Driven by Ataru’s guitar and Sawa’s drums, this is the little unit that could. Jazzy little rock and roll numbers played fast and loose, sloppy in the best possible sense. Like Prometheus with fire, they seem like two kids who just discovered music and can’t wait to share it with everyone regardless of the consequences. And this is the kind of rock we would all want to chained to.

If this is where these guys are starting from, lord knows where they might be in a few years. Quite a few colors of stages come to mind.
